Crompco purchased the web portal code from Digital Content Solutions (see below) and hired the DCS technology team in Fall, 2003. The award-winning Crompco web portal and underlying database has been recognized within the industry as the gold standard of maintaining testing records for gasoline stations. It is written in PHP, MySQL, Javascript, Flash, and automatically exports to many popular formats for reporting, such as Excel and Crystal Reports.

Digital Content Solutions, LLC (2001 - 2003) Founder, Chief Technology Officer
Digital Content Solutions created distance learning content management solutions and field data collection and testing web portals. Clients included The Einstein Academy, Flashlink, TRM Corporation, and Crompco Corporation. In 2003, the company amicably split. David Johns, the other founder, continued with distance learning under Digital Schooling, while Timothy Allen and the tech team moved to Crompco to become their technology department. (Renamed after split)

Developed program to accept applications for accounts, built customer service tools, engineered the database, wrote COBOL middleware applications for financial transactions, and a suite of marketing tools. (Since renamed Nova Savings Bank)

CDnow.com (1998 - 1999) Senior Web Developer
Member for the development team of CDnow's content management system. Helped develop the first digital music download store on the Web. Project lead for the Fast Forward Rewards Incentive Program. Recurring duties included bandwidth optimization: ensuring graphics were compressed as much as possible while still looking good, and ensuring cross-browser compatibility of HTML output. Other Personal Projects
The Second Life Community Convention: Founder, board member of the not-for-profit organization (The Future United, Inc.), and lead organizer for the first three years. Helped found the not-for-profit organization (The Future United) which organizes the event.

SLTrivia.com: Created a trivia game within the virtual world with over 40,000 trivia questions. There are over 50 locations throughout the virtual world to play, and teams can complete. Each location is part of an centralized, tracked advertising network, which covers the costs of the servers powering the game.

SLBoutique.com: Founder of the web-based marketplace for content created with the online virtual world Second Life. Grew to a size of over 200,000 unique items, and nearly doubled revenues every other month during the first year. Sold after one year to the Electric Sheep Company (Founded January 2005, sold February 2006).

Philadelphia Future Salon: Moderator of the monthly discussion group.

Past Projects: Developed first virutal worlds presence for the University of Pennsylvania; Web Development Consultant for The Electric Sheep Company (sale of SLBoutique.com); volunteer for the Second Life Relay for Life; initial contract web developer for Doorway's Villa Vacations, Trans-Atlantic Books, The Huntsman Program in International Studies & Business at the Wharton School in U Penn; founded, developed, hosted and marketed PhillyMusic.com starting in 1993.

Animated GIF 89a to SL Texture Conversion Developed a tool which converts any animated GIF file (the de-facto web standard) to a 24-bit targa compatible with Second Life, including the code necessary to animate the texture, in SL-compatible 2-bit exponential width and height format.

Senior thesis and project: Computers Aiding Information Acquisition included computer program interface studies on middle and high school students, research in human computer interaction, and development of an "expert author" system: devised as a planning scheme for information structure design. Included research into use of emerging three-dimensional technologies for use in education. The self-created individualized major is now a mainstream University of Pennsylvania major.
